Chapter 1: Are they ghosts?

In front of the huge floor-to-ceiling window of the shopping mall.

Si Si’s eyes were red and swollen. She held her chin with one hand, but no one could tell what she was thinking.

She was now in the most prosperous business district in the city. This 33-story shopping mall was built by her parents with their life’s efforts.

With the development of the times, the e-commerce industry gradually replaced the physical business, and the business of the shopping mall was getting worse and worse.

The shareholders withdrew their shares one after another when they saw the bad situation. To allow the shopping mall to continue to operate, Father Si used the building as collateral to borrow money from the bank.

The loan payment period was approaching, but the Si Family was unable to repay it. They even owed three months’ salary to employees.

Father Si and Mother Si heard that a new bank had been established in the neighboring city with loose loan conditions, so they planned to go and take a look.

As a result, because of excessive worry and lack of concentration, they had a car accident while driving on the highway, and both died.

Because they died, this mess could only be borne by their only daughter, Si Si.

Today was the funeral of Si Si’s parents. After helping Si Si bury her parents for the sake of face, her relatives and friends can’t wait to leave, fearing that she would make any demands on them.

Because of poor capital turnover, the shopping mall announced the suspension of business half a month ago. Now, only Si Si was in the huge shopping mall.

As for their previous house, it had been sold by her father to repay the debt. Now she can only live in the shopping mall temporarily.

Si Si sat in front of the window while in deep thought for an afternoon, but she still couldn’t come up with a solution. She was exhausted at that moment, so she slowly got up and took the elevator to the top floor.

The top floor used to be the office of the mall executives. Since Father Si sold the property, he moved all their family’s belongings here.

Si Si’s temporary life here was not much different from her previous home, except that her loving parents were missing.

After a simple wash, Si Si changed into pajamas and lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling in a daze.

Suddenly, her mobile phone on the bedside table rang.

Si Si picked up the phone: [Teacher Wang.]

“Si Si, I know your situation. With such a big thing happening, I guess you don’t have the heart to come to school. Today, I arranged a 1-year leave of absence for you. During this time, you should take care of your family affairs.”

If it weren’t for Teacher Wang calling, Si Si would not consider this issue in detail.

Now she thought about it seriously. Teacher Wang was right. With such a big thing happening at home, she couldn’t continue to go to school.

“Okay, thank you, Teacher Wang.”

Teacher Wang said: “You are only 19 years old. Your life has just begun. You should be open-minded about everything you encounter.”

Si Si replied: “I know, teacher. Thank you for your concern.”

After hanging up the phone, Si Si burst into tears.

This was the only word of comfort she had heard since her parents passed away.

Perhaps because she was too tired these days, Si Si fell asleep while crying. In her dream, she seemed to feel someone touching her face.

There were also babyish voices talking beside her.

“This sister is so beautiful.”

“Yes, brother, look at her long eyelashes, it’s longer than uncle’s.”

“Sister, look, the quilt that sister uses is also very beautiful.”

“The pattern on it seems to be a little bear…”

At first, Si Si just thought she was dreaming, but as the sound became clearer and clearer, she instinctively opened her eyes to check.

As soon as she opened her eyes, she saw two little radish heads right in front of her.

Because she just cried herself to sleep and did not turn off the bedside lamp, the light in the room was not very bright, but it did not affect her vision at all.

Si Si, who was frightened and sweating, swallowed her screams, but suddenly sat up, and moved her body back.

Looking closely again, she saw two little kids, a boy, and a girl, wearing ancient costumes.

However, these two little kids looked a bit wrong.

The embroidered brocade clothes on their bodies were extraordinary at first glance, but their faces were dirty.

This kind of dirt was not caused by playing, but the kind of appearance caused by not washing for a long time.

And the two children were skinny, similar to the little carrot heads in her impression.

This was caused by long-term malnutrition.

Thinking about where she was currently, it was on the top floor of the shopping mall.

All the rolling shutters of the mall have been lowered. To prevent people from making trouble here, Si Si also deliberately cut off the power switch downstairs.

If the rolling shutters were not forcibly destroyed, no one could enter the mall.

Especially the two children in front of her, how could four or five-year-old kids enter?

Then, there was only one possibility, these two kids were ghosts!

Thinking of this, Si Si felt that he had found the truth.

If they were human beings, she wouldn’t be afraid, but it would be different if she met ghosts. Because ghosts were supernatural beings……

Si Si instinctively picked up her phone to call the police, but when her finger touched the screen, she found that the phone was out of battery.

At this time, Si Si’s pajamas were already soaked with cold sweat. To not lose momentum, she pretended to be calm.

“Who are you?”

Although the little girl’s face was dirty, her smile still made people feel sweet.

“Beautiful sister, my name is Xiao Qing’er.” As she said that, she pointed to the little boy next to her: “This is my brother, Xiao Mujin.”

Looking at Xiao Qing’s serious way of speaking and her clear big eyes, for some reason, Si Si’s fear gradually subsided.

She continued to ask: “Why are you here?”

Xiao Qing rubbed her little nose and said: “My brother and I were just about to go to bed when we saw a door appear in the room. We walked in and saw pretty sister.”

Xiao Mujin nodded and said: “Sister, this place is so beautiful, where is it?”

Xiao Mujin’s question made Si Si even more confused.

However, what she cares most about now is how these two strange kids appeared here.

Xiao Qing said that she saw a door in front of her, and after entering it, she arrived there. For Si Si, this was something she would never believe.

“Have you heard that children who lie are eaten by wolves, so children should not lie?”

Xiao Qing blinked her big eyes a few times, a little aggrieved: “Beautiful sister, Qing’er did not lie.”

Xiao Mujin also nodded: “My sister did not lie, we came here from that door.”

Looking at the firm eyes of the brother and sister, Si Si became more confused.

“Then tell me, where are you from?”

“I know this, we are from Prince Rong Mansion in Qiushui City.” Xiao Qing tilted her head and said seriously.

Qiushui City……

Prince Rong Mansion…

Si Si had never heard of these two terms!

To find out the truth, Si Si could only continue to ask.

“What dynasty does this Prince Rong Mansion in?”

This question didn’t shock Xiao Mujin: “Sister, we are all citizens of Daqi Kingdom, and our uncle is His Royal Highness Prince Rong of Daqi Kingdom.”

Although Xiao Mujin said it very seriously, Si Si could only see that the child was bragging.
