Chapter 73: Cooperating with the police (Part 1)

When Lu Yunyao finished the live broadcast, she gathered her hair and tied it, then opened the door. She saw the plainclothes police standing at the door of the unit. Without saying anything, she followed the other party into the car.

Five minutes after Lu Yunyao left, Tang Mingmei, who was always late, knocked on the door.

When she took out her mobile phone, a WeChat message came from Lu Yunyao: I’m going to the police station, don’t worry.

Tang Mingmei’s expression cracked. She wanted to call, but she was afraid of dealing with the people’s police. After hesitating for a while, she directly screenshotted the message and gave it to Lu Peng, who was considered to have completed the task assigned by her husband.

Lu Peng received a WeChat message from his wife and said to the old man of the Huo Family across from him: “I wanted to call that girl, but now she has gone to the public security agency.”

He said it was troublesome, but Lu Peng was a little proud. In the United States, there are shadows of chaebols behind different parties, but in China, there is a clear boundary between the officialdom and the business circle. If people want to be a real giant in the industry, they still need a certain amount of official connections. Lu Yunyao gave Lu Peng hope.

Lu Peng even regretted why Lu Yunyao was not a boy, otherwise she would be more suitable to be the successor of the Lu Family industry than Lu Junyi. He could let Lu Yunyao enter the business circle hand in hand so that this ability and business can be better combined. He believed that the Lu Family would become an invincible existence.

Mr. Huo smiled and said: “Why did you go to the public security agency again? Are you helping to solve the case?”

Lu Peng said: “It should be about the last connection. Someone wanted to find the child to save his son’s life, but this girl refused to answer any call. I guess someone called the police. This girl is a troublemaker.”

Lu Peng didn’t watch the third live call. Before the third live call started, he had already sat face-to-face with Mr. Huo.

Mr. Huo frowned slightly. The life assistant next to him had quickly summarized the matter of Lu Yunyao’s call to the Qu Family and handed the PAD to Mr. Huo.

Mr. Huo put on his reading glasses, and after reading it, he frowned: “It’s not right for her to act like this. Others want to find their daughter. If that’s the case, just connect her online. This is too much interference in the Qu Family’s affairs. We don’t favor boys over girls, but many people in society favor boys over girls. When they heard that the boy needed a kidney donation, they got anxious.”

Lu Peng and Mr. Huo didn’t think that girls had to donate kidneys to their brothers. Their ideas were purely business thinking. Lu Yunyao should only do the ‘right things’, not things that cause controversy.

Just like the Qu Family wants to connect with the second sister of the Qu family now, they can let the second sister of the Qu family go online. Whether the other party was willing to donate or not, has nothing to do with Lu Yunyao.

Mr. Huo handed the PAD to his assistant and said: “She lacked a mature person to guide her. It was a mistake for you to let her live outside.”

Lu Peng sighed: “Mingmei was angry with her at that time, but I didn’t expect this girl to be so stubborn.”

Mr. Huo smiled and said: “I have an idea. Let Mingye have dinner with her.”

Mingye?

Lu Peng was slightly stunned, and Mr. Huo said: “It’s embarrassing to say that the girl from your Lu Family and our grandson were originally engaged. It was Yunyao and Huo Shaoming who were engaged.”

Lu Peng nodded.

“Shaoming is not very mature.” The old man said with a smile: “Mingye is my best child.”

Huo Mingye was the son of Mr. Huo who was born in his old age. The old man loves this child very much. Unfortunately, Huo Mingye had a car accident at the age of 22 and became a vegetable. This made the old man’s hair turn white overnight. Fortunately, Huo Mingye woke up three years later. After a year of rehabilitation, Huo Mingye showed his business talent. Mr. Huo, who loved his youngest son, handed over many industries to his son.

Lu Peng was stunned and said in disbelief: “You mean Yunyao and Mingye?”

In Lu Peng’s mind, Huo Mingye and himself were in the same circle, but on second thought, Huo Mingye was only 29 years old now and was a diamond bachelor in the circle.

Mr. Huo nodded slightly: “Yunyao is still too immature and too young. Wouldn’t it be smoother if Mingye helped her to guide her life? And Shaoming…… I remember that he liked the one your family had raised before.”

Lu Peng cleared his throat. Yang Mengke was also their pride, but it was a pity that Yang Mengke was to be married to their son.

“Forget Mengke. After all, if Yunyao and Mingye’s affair succeeded, it would be too embarrassing.”

Mr. Huo also thought so. Moreover, in his opinion, since Huo Shaoming had eaten the Huo family’s rice and enjoyed the resources of their family, so he should listen to the Huo Family’s arrangements instead of changing his engagement partner at will.

Mr. Huo said: “Okay, Mingye is back from the United States now. I will ask him to pick up your daughter at the gate of the Public Security Bureau in the evening.”

Lu Peng laughed dryly. Lu Yunyao was a time bomb now. He dare not let Lu Yunyao contact Huo Mingye directly, for fear that Lu Yunyao would offend Mr. Huo’s beloved son.

He said tactfully: “Wait a little longer. My daughter gives me a headache. I’m afraid she will lose her temper with Mr. Huo.”

Huo Mingye just came back from the United States. He was afraid he hadn’t adjusted to the time difference. Mr. Huo was a person who loved his youngest son. Since Lu Peng said so, he simply postponed the time for Huo Mingye and Lu Yunyao to meet.

“Mingye’s birthday is at the end of the month. Let her come to the birthday party and let Mingye contact her for a while.”

Mr. Huo can use swift and decisive means to force Huo Shaoming to fulfill the marriage contract, but when it comes to his youngest son, Mr. Huo can’t bear it.
