Chapter 210: Never Marry

Everyone looked at Xing’er, and everyone had something in their heart that they didn’t say. What else can you do if you don’t marry him?

Old Lady Gu poked her cane at the door and made a “dong dong” sound. She scolded Xing’er sternly: “Shut up! You are a disgrace!”

She looked at Aunt Huang and said: “Okay, just give 5 taels of silver as a betrothal gift. You can find someone to come to our house tomorrow to propose marriage.”

Shanzi’s face suddenly showed joy.

Mrs. Qian screamed: “Mom, I don’t agree. 5 taels of silver is too little!”

Old Lady Gu stared at her: “What else do you want? Who asks you to raise a bad girl yourself? You have brought shame to the Gu family!”

Xing’er looked at the old lady and gritted her teeth: “I won’t marry!”

“I don’t have anything to do with him. I am still a virgin. I won’t marry!”

Shanzi was anxious. It seemed that things were about to be done, but Xing’er changed her mind unexpectedly.

“Xing’er, what do you mean?”

Xing’er stared at him intently: “When you said those words, did you think of me? You ruined my reputation and made me unable to raise my head. I would rather die than marry you!”

After she finished speaking, Xing’er suddenly crashed into the pillar under the corridor.

Everyone exclaimed.

The eldest aunt was close and quickly reached out to pull Xing’er. She pulled one hand, but Xing’er still crashed into the pillar.

Then Xing’er fell softly.

The eldest aunt quickly supported her, and Gu Fei saw that Xing’er’s forehead was broken, and the bright red blood slowly flowed out.

Then there was Mrs. Qian’s scream: “Xing’er——”

Shanzi ran over and was pushed away fiercely by Gu Zhong.

Gu Zhang hurriedly shouted: “Hurry, hurry, carry the person into the house.”

He hurriedly asked Gu Rong: “Third brother, ask Liu Zhuangtou where there is a doctor, go and bring the doctor here!”

Gu Rong responded and ran out.

Aunt Liu and the eldest aunt hurriedly carried Xing’er into the house and put her on Mrs. Qian’s bed.

Gu Fei followed in and saw Xing’er lying on the bed with her eyes closed. There was blood on her forehead, but not much, and it had stopped flowing.

She frowned. If it was an external injury, it would be easy to deal with, just stop the bleeding and reduce the inflammation, but looking at this situation, she was afraid it was an internal injury.

At this time, the crowd watching the excitement outside the door had not dispersed yet.

Gu Zhang bent down and bowed deeply to everyone: “Dear uncles, aunts, brothers, and sisters, Xing’er is still young. She has caused these troubles due to her improper behavior. I don’t know if she can save her life. I hope you will be merciful for the sake of our fellow villagers.”

The village chief hurriedly said: “Don’t worry, we won’t go out and talk nonsense. Xing’er is also a girl we watched grow up. We won’t harm her.”

The Eldest Uncle also quickly expressed his position: “Don’t worry, Second Brother Gu, even if it’s my wife and children, I won’t let them say a word outside.”

Gu Zhang looked at Shanzi and Aunt Huang again.

Aunt Huang lowered her head: “It’s all my Shanzi’s fault. No matter whether Xing’er gets married or not, if my Shanzi dares to talk nonsense again, I will beat him to death first.”

Shanzi seemed to have lost his soul beside him, and the whole person was stunned.

Gu Zhang snorted and turned to go into the house.

Gu Rong was gone for half an hour before he came back in a mule cart.

A middle-aged doctor in a long robe followed Gu Rong in quickly.

After asking about the situation, the doctor looked at Xing’er’s complexion and took her pulse.

After a while, the doctor opened his eyes and shook his head: “It’s hard to say what’s going on in her head. Let me prescribe a few doses of medicine. If you can wake up and talk in the next few days, then maybe you’re fine. If you can’t wake up, then I can’t do anything about it.”

When Mrs. Qian heard this, she collapsed on the ground. The girl she had raised with great difficulty might be gone.
