Chapter 2: Dinner Party (Part 2)

Lu Yunyao hasn’t completely broken through the blockages in her body and hasn’t entered the realm of cultivating immortals, but her spiritual outlook was completely different from the past.

Lu Peng nodded slightly: “At least her back is straight, but the head is still messed up.”

Lu Junyi said: “Look at the skirt she is wearing. She is wearing Mengke’s skirt.”

Lu Peng waved to Lu Yunyao, who was going down the stairs, and when Lu Yunyao approached, he asked: “Why are you wearing Mengke’s skirt? She has already worn it.”

The father and son have different concerns.

Lu Junyi felt that his sister robbed Lu Mengke’s things, while Lu Peng wondered why Lu Mengke wanted to lend her old clothes to Lu Yunyao.

Lu Mengke explained: “I found out that my sister’s dress is not suitable, so mother said that it is better to wear Hanfu. My sister and I are about the same size, so I brought some of my clothes to her. Some sets of clothes are new and some are old. I let my sister try the most suitable one for her, this dress matches my sister’s skin tone very well.”

Tang Mingmei also nodded: “Her skin looks fair, and Yunyao is suitable for this color. Time is too tight, and Yunyao still has too few clothes. I will buy her clothes next time. This is all I can do today.”

Lu Yunyao nodded slightly: “That’s right.”

She doesn’t care if it was old clothes or not, it was enough to deal with the dinner party.

The three women reached a consensus, and Lu Peng also accepted this explanation, but Lu Junyi did not.

Lu Junyi couldn’t help but say: “You shouldn’t be wearing Mengke’s skirt. Our Lu family is not short of money. We have already said that we will support you both equally. You don’t have to take away her things.”

Lu Peng laughed: “Yunyao, what your brother means is that your sister wore these clothes. We are not short of money, so there is no need to wear your sister’s clothes. She has a share of everything, and you also have it.”

Lu Peng gave his son a warning look. Lu Junyi still needs the cooperation of the person in front of him to donate bone marrow. It was inappropriate to speak to Lu Yunyao like this.

Lu Junyi didn’t feel that he had done anything wrong. Lu Mengke was not really from the Lu family. Her position in this family was too embarrassing. If he didn’t speak for Lu Mengke, how would Lu Mengke live?

Tang Mingmei stepped forward to smooth things over: “Okay, okay, it was a trivial matter, and I was also negligent about the clothes. After choosing the dress, I should take a look.”

Lu Yunyao said amusedly: “Yes, the dinner party should start. Let’s start early and finish early.”

She traveled to the world of cultivating immortals to cultivate, but she was not ignorant of worldly affairs. She cultivated for years and went on to experience things in many small secret realms, and then she became known as Venerable Yaoguang. She has experienced so many things, that even with the small confrontation between Lu Peng and Lu Junyi, she can see through it without telling it in front of her.

Old Master Lu also came over, while Lu Peng tidied up his clothes and prepared to start the dinner.

Lu Peng adjusted the microphone and said: “To everyone present here, today is a special day. Our daughter, Lu Yunyao, has returned to the Lu family and officially recorded it in the family tree.”

There was clattering applause.

Immediately afterward, Lu Peng succinctly talked about finding his daughter. Lu Yunyao had already been admitted to the Capital University of Science and Technology and would be a freshman after the semester started.

After Lu Yunyao was found, and after a friendly discussion with the Yang family, who adopted her, Lu Mengke’s surname will still be Lu. She will be the adopted daughter of the Lu family. Because Lu Mengke was a sophomore, from now on, Lu Mengke will be the eldest daughter and Lu Yunyao will be the second daughter.

While speaking, Tang Mingmei led Lu Mengke to the stage.

Then pushed Lu Mengke’s back gently and made the two daughters stand together.

Lu Yunyao cooperated to set boards while thinking about how to become a celestial being. It probably means to be a good person and do good deeds. However, today was too late, being a good person and doing good deeds can only be done tomorrow.

After going back today, she should use the remaining spiritual energy to clear the dirt in her body and also absorb the essence of the moon.

Lu Kui, the old master next to Lu Yunyao, saw her distracted. He couldn’t help but shake his head at this granddaughter. So what if she was the biological daughter of the Lu family? Blood relationship doesn’t mean everything, he still appreciates Lu Mengke more.

Lu Mengke was like a lady in ancient times. Her every move was elegant, which reminded old people like Lu Kui of the old days, and so he liked this granddaughter very much.

Although the Lu Family gave Lu Yunyao a party, everyone knew that Lu Yunyao grew up in the countryside, and her mottled pink hair was too discouraging. No one tried to come and talk to Lu Yunyao. Many people were socializing with Lu Mengke instead.

Although Lu Mengke was the adopted daughter of the Lu family, she was outstanding. She was admitted to Capital University because of her ability.

Lu Mengke was simply someone else’s child. In the past, Lu Mengke had a marriage contract. Now that Lu Mengke was an adopted daughter, she should find another partner. Such a girl was of course suitable for marrying into a wealthy family.

Lu Mengke stood beside Lu Junyi with a decent smile, obviously already quite used to such a rich dinner party.

She held champagne in her hand and occasionally took a sip. When she was not drinking, she would not pass the wine to the waiter but put it in Lu Junyi’s hands. Lu Mengke was always very cautious about what she imported.

Lu Junyi didn’t mind the trouble, he would help Lu Mengke tidy up the tassels on her hairpin, and help Lu Mengke hold the wine glass.

Halfway through the party, Lu Peng suggested that Lu Mengke play the pipa.

Lu Mengke’s face froze. She was not used to performing in public.

Lu Junyi immediately said: “Dad, Mengke is not a performer actress.”

Instead, it was Lu Mengke who said: “It’s okay, I’m also streaming live on Doujiu myself, I can perform.”

Lu Mengke felt that she was not the real daughter of the Lu family and, that she shouldn’t go on stage… … Lu Mengke regretted staying in the Lu family.

Lu Mengke was wearing an ancient costume, she played the pipa with her fingers, and the clear tunes flowed out, and the people around were intoxicated listening to it.

Holding the dessert in her hand, Lu Yunyao leisurely listened to Lu Mengke playing the pipa.

In all fairness, Lu Mengke played well. No wonder everyone present was mesmerized.

Lu Yunyao passed behind a man named Leng Jiashu, who was broadcasting live with his mobile phone.

Her eyesight was so good that she saw the words on the live barrage.

[It’s great, it’s indeed a feast of the Lu family. I can see the banquet of a wealthy family on the Doujiu platform. Can you not just watch the beautiful young lady playing the pipa? I admit that the young lady is very good, but I also want to see other people.]

[Don’t turn the camera! I want to watch the beautiful sister of Capital University play the pipa!]

[Didn’t you say that this is the welcoming party for the real daughter of the Lu family? Why I couldn’t see the real daughter?]

[The real daughter seems to be living a very hard life, I hope she will not feel jealous of the school belle sister. Since the real daughter returns to a wealthy family, she will get better sooner or later.]

[This is one of a kind. The visual effect of the video is even better than that of selfies. Menghui Daqi, the UP master, is truly amazing.]

Menghui Daqi was Lu Mengke’s ID. Lu Yunyao has the impression that she finished the dessert in her mouth and put the dessert box to the passing waiter. She politely declined a person who invited her to dance and continued to taste new desserts.

Lu Mengke played the piano to socialize, while Lu Yunyao was occasionally called by Lu Peng to greet people, and then she hid for the rest of the time in the corner.

Lu Mengke passed by unconsciously. At first, she felt that Lu Yunyao was a bit lonely and pitiful, but when she looked carefully, there was an aura of alienation around Lu Yunyao.

Lu Yunyao was not alone, but enjoying the feeling of being alone under the moon, and she seemed to be shining under the moon.

How would Lu Mengke know that Lu Yunyao was shining because she was cultivating while basking in the moonlight?
