Chapter 100: Little Master (Part 3)

So many people had to take a shower and change their clothes. The whole morning was wasted. Instructor Zheng returned to the dormitory and sighed with a headache, and whispered to the comrades next to him: “Say, do you think that because people look so good, God will be on their side? Such a good day, but suddenly it rains!”

The heavy rain didn’t stop the whole day, and the thunder continued. Lin Qingyin felt that it was a thunder calamity. Someone might breakthrough in the world. This kind of thing was very common in her previous life, but it was a very rare occurrence in this world with scarce spiritual energy.

After the heavy rain, the weather returned to sunshine again. After being washed by the rain, the spiritual energy between heaven and earth was a little more abundant than before. Lin Qingyin also silently ran to the mountain during training and absorbed the surrounding spiritual energy.

Halfway through the training, a man in a military uniform came over and whispered a few words to Instructor Zheng. Instructor Zheng was shocked after hearing what the man said, turned his head, and glanced at Lin Qingyin: “Lin Qingyin out of the line!”

Lin Qingyin could probably guess the purpose of this person’s visit. He must have come for Feng Zhongbao, who had been on a mission before.

Sure enough, after Lin Qingyin was taken to the office, the person who came directly stated the purpose: “Student Lin Qingyin, I am Cheng Kun, a comrade-in-arms of Captain Feng. Captain Feng asked me to thank you on his behalf. The day you gave him an engraved stone, he put it in his chest pocket and went out for the mission. The mission process was quite dangerous. He was shot in the chest by the gangster, fortunately, the bullet was blocked by the stone. Captain Feng escaped a catastrophe.”

Cheng Kun still felt a little unbelievable when he mentioned this. The gun used by the gangster had a strong impact. It stands to reason that such a small stone would not be able to stop the bullet and stuck in the stone. However, Company Commander Feng didn’t even break his skin. He only felt pain in his chest.

The luckiest thing was that the bullet was supposed to hit his heart. If it wasn’t for this stone, Feng Zhongbao would have died on the spot.

When Cheng Kun finished, he got up and gave Lin Qingyin a military salute, and then sat down again: “Company Commander Feng has other missions that he can’t get through, for the time being, so he entrusted me to thank you. The soldiers on this mission all joked about you. The stone is a talisman, which can keep people safe.”

Lin Qingyin didn’t expect these soldiers to be so witty, and they actually guessed it: “Maybe it has this effect, or why don’t I engrave a few more, and give it to them when you go back?”

Cheng Kun said with a smile, “That’s good, whether they want it or not, I want the first one.”

Although Cheng Kun said it was a talisman, he didn’t think about feudal superstition at all, thinking that it was just a coincidence. And when he asked for this stone, he didn’t think it was a talisman, he just thought it was very lucky.

The troops that Cheng Kun and Feng Zhongbao belonged to were somewhat special. They often had to perform some special tasks. Such tasks were usually somewhat dangerous. Injuries were a common event, and they might even be sacrificed at some point. Therefore, every time they go out on a mission, they will bring some small things with them, such as photos of their family members or something special to them.

Cheng Kun felt that this small stone could be used as a lucky charm, and hoped that he could return safely like Feng Zhongbao when he was in danger.

“I heard when I came here that you have been training well these days?” Cheng Kun smiled at Lin Qingyin: “The 300-meter obstacle was done very well, and the shooting is comparable to that of a sharpshooter?”

Lin Qingyin doesn’t feel proud of this achievement. After all, she was not an ordinary person. These projects were like little games for her, and there was no intensity at all.

Seeing Lin Qingyin’s expression was calm as usual, Cheng Kun smiled admiringly: “You can be calm, you are a good seedling. In fact, every year, we recruit some college students from various universities. If it weren’t for this, Company Commander Feng would not have come to lead the military training in person. You are good in all aspects, do you have any plans to join the army?”

When Lin Qingyin heard this, she immediately shook her head like a rattle: “To be honest, I don’t!”

Cheng Kun: “… …”

  1. Hahahahh… Little master likes to eat and cultivate the most. She was a bit lazy too. Give up, instructor-nim

  2. Now if they invited a good chef, they would have an elite sniper. Sounds like a good deal, unlucky for them.

  3. The training is very ineffective compared to cultivation. She have to tidy up her own bed to an inexplicable (at least in her perspective) standard. She can’t have snacks. The foods are not soul enriching and the portion is too small. Most importantly, her beloved divination is banned in army. So, no. She wouldn’t want to join the army. 😅😅😅
