Chapter 103: A Sinister Mistake (Part 1)

Outside the live broadcast room, as soon as the truth of the baby swap was revealed, many viewers who were following the broadcast and had some detective skills dug out the company and identity information of ‘Shijianwu’.

Some insiders in the industry even listed a table, which listed in detail the companies that would compete with ‘Shijianwu’ in his project, as well as the persons in charge of the project in those companies.

There were seventeen people in total.

Old Lady Xia’s grandson, who had exchanged his academic qualifications and his background with ‘Shijianwu’, was among these seventeen people.

Seeing that the online investigation in the human world was in full swing, the network of the underworld was also unusually lively and hotly discussed.

But the focus of many ghost fans was very strange.

They didn’t care about the ‘real or fake daughter’ or who the luck changer was.

Instead, they were more concerned about the Western demon in Shijianwu‘s mother.

When Shijianwu‘s mother became ‘sick’, the more experienced ghosts, like Gu Zhisang, could see a tall and strong monster that was very different from the ghosts of Xia Country.

It had curved horns on its head, a face like a donkey or a rabbit, red eyes, human-like limbs but covered with short fur, upright legs but donkey-shaped soles, and a long thin tail behind it.

This opened the eyes of many old ghosts who had entered the underworld hundreds of years ago and didn’t even know there were other countries besides Xia Country.

“I have been dead for more than 700 years, but this is the first time I have seen a foreign ghost. Didn’t the old books say that the Hu people were tall and handsome, with blond hair and blue eyes? I have always been curious. When I saw it today, why does this foreign ghost look a bit like the two officers, the Ox-Faced and Horse-Faced… It’s really strange. As expected, I should go and tease the handsome male ghost in the underworld.”

“Of course, it doesn’t mean that the two officers, the Ox-Faced and Horse-Faced, are not handsome~”

“Humph, this foreign ghost is so arrogant that he ran to our Xia Country to bully the living people of Xia Country. This is intolerable! If you have the guts, come to the underworld and fight!”

“This is not a ghost. Can you have some common sense? This thing is called a devil… Well, it’s not your fault that you are ignorant. After all, when many old ghosts died, these guys seemed to have not been created yet.”

Because the Western monsters were tall and looked quite fierce, the ghosts in the underworld were naturally unwilling to be outdone and set off a new wave of ghost competition.

Many ghosts were trying to prove that the ghosts of Xia Country were the most powerful. Only two ghost messengers, the Ox-Headed and Horse-Faced, were not in a good mood after reading some of the comments.

A few minutes later, a ghost messenger who took a selfie with a bull face with round eyes and a 45-degree angle shot from above, posted a solemn statement on his underworld big-eyed boy with tens of millions of followers:

“Don’t compare the wild donkey that came out of nowhere with your grandfather, this is a scam!”

Ma Mian, on the other side, did not jump up and down, nor did he make any relevant comments.

He was just emo alone, looking at his handsome horse face with a bronze mirror in his residence, and then looking at the screenshot of the Western demon on his underworld mobile phone with reluctance.

Seeing that a ghost said that the thing looked like him in the barrage, he was even more broken and quietly shut himself in.

After a while, Ma Mian opened Gu Zhisang’s private message interface and sent a private message to his idol with a grievance.

Ma Mian man in the underworld V: “Sangsang, do I look like that ugly thing from abroad? QAQ”

Gu Zhisang didn’t know about the heated discussion in the underworld about the Western demons.

The confrontation in the live broadcast room continued.

Upon hearing Gu Zhisang’s question, Old Lady Xia’s face froze.

She didn’t want to mention this topic, so she avoided it and sneered:

“Why are you still talking so much? Anyway, you know everything now, so go to the police and arrest me!”

“I know you two hate me, but if I have another chance to choose, I will still do it!”

“I will plead guilty. I did everything by myself.” Old Lady Xia shouted at Shijianwu with a stubborn tone and a stubborn look.

Old Lady Xia still thinks she has done nothing wrong.

Shijianwu‘ was somewhat numb, and smiled bitterly: “You mean I should not pursue your good grandson, and just accept it?”

“My academic qualifications that were replaced, my mother’s life that was replaced, I should just let it go?”

“They don’t know anything!” Old Lady Xia slapped the door frame with her palm and said sternly: “And this is what your family owes me, you should pay with blood!”

“I also raised your mother, and I have been cleaning her shit and piss for so many years…”

Hearing this, Gu Zhisang couldn’t help frowning, “Stop! According to what you said, Old Lady Xia, my client, and his mother don’t know anything either.”

“If you insist on settling this account in the live broadcast room, then you have to settle it until the end of time, I don’t have time to waste with you.”

She had a headache, because human hearts and human nature were indeed the most unpredictable things in the world, and they were also mixed with many complex considerations and emotions.

From the perspective of Old Lady Xia, she not only felt that she should take revenge but also felt that she was very kind for not smothering Shijianwu‘s mother.

But for ‘Shijianwu’, the sufferings suffered by his family were all unprovoked disasters.

Gu Zhisang just wanted to uncover the whole story.

As for the right and wrong rewards and punishments, let the parties themselves argue about it.

So she asked coldly: “I only ask you one question, Old Lady Xia, do you just want revenge? Don’t you have any sinister desires in these years?”

When she first looked at the family photo from 20 years ago, she found that the Western monster, which had not yet fully formed, was related to Old Lady Xia.

The two unrelated women standing in the center were shrouded in a faint black air.

Therefore, at the beginning, Gu Zhisang thought the same as the audience in the live broadcast room, thinking that this devil was deliberately created by Old Lady Xia, just like the curse on Shijianwu’s body, it was cast on his mother, wanting to torture Shijianwu’s mother.

But when she saw Old Lady Xia and Shijianwu’s mother, Gu Zhisang found that her previous guess was wrong.

Old Lady Xia had a twisted love for her enemy’s daughter, as well as a split hatred and guilt.

The person who was haunted by the demon was not Shijianwu‘s mother, but Old Lady Xia herself.

48 years ago, a frail woman in her early thirties came out of the hospital with a crying baby girl in her arms.

When she returned to her small but empty home, looking at the black and white photo of her husband hanging on the wall, she cried and laughed, saying that their daughter would “avenge” them and live a good life.

After wiping away her tears, the woman looked at the baby on the bed, and countless cruel ideas flashed through her mind.

For example, deliberately starving her, letting her “accidentally” die young, or other means of revenge.

In short, kill the child and put an end to it.

But when the skinny little child cried loudly because of hunger, Old Lady Xia still couldn’t bear it.

In the end, she unbuttoned her clothes and fed her enemy’s child.

But every night, she would blame herself for being soft-hearted and make her sleeping child cry in revenge.

She hesitated and struggled for several years, and her hidden mental illness became more and more serious.

The widow of the Xia Family became famous for her mood swings among the neighbors.

In the eyes of outsiders, although Old Lady Xia’s daughter was well-behaved and cute, she always yelled at her and spoke coldly to her, just like a stepmother.

But no one knew the pain in Old Lady Xia’s heart over the years.

People were all made of flesh and blood.

Being chased by a little child who kept calling her “Mom”, she gradually regarded the child of her enemy as her daughter. Sometimes she would be distracted when looking at the little girl’s quiet sleeping face, thinking: Don’t be resentful anymore.

After all, it was not her who harmed her family. Her daughter had already exchanged lives with her. She really shouldn’t be angry with a child anymore.

Intellectually, she wanted to distinguish between gratitude and resentment, but emotionally, she couldn’t do it at all.

Because after Shijianwu‘s mother grew up, her face had the shadow of her biological parents – especially her father.
