Chapter 31: Earthbound Spirit (Part 2)

She was not afraid of ghosts by nature. At that time, the eagerness to save people rushed into her brain, causing her to rush down the stairs, chasing the back of her “roommate” and running to a certain teaching building.

Once inside, her ‘roommate’ disappeared.

The ponytail girl was silent for a moment and said: “At that time, the lights in the teaching building were very bright, and there was no one in the hall on the first floor. Then, when I walked forward, I heard the faint cry of a girl outside the toilet on the first floor.”

She knew that it was probably not her ‘roommate’ who was crying, but she gritted her teeth and walked in. She saw the ‘roommate’ behind the toilet door with her back facing her, standing in front of the sink, and crying with her face covered.

The ‘Roommate’ had long hair hanging down, covering her face.

The girl with the ponytail swallowed her saliva, and called out her ‘roommate’ while trembling: “What’s wrong with you, didn’t we agree to go back and pack things?”

Then she heard messy footsteps outside the toilet. Her other roommates chased after her panting, calling her and the ‘roommate’ names: “Where are you?”

Hearing the familiar voice, she couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief, feeling more or less confident.

But at this moment, when she raised her eyes, she realized that the ‘roommate’ who was weeping with her head down and covering her face raised her head at some point, and was staring at herself from the mirror of the sink.

When their eyes met, under the messy hair, she saw the eyes of the ‘roommate’ were wide open and full of resentment.

Her body was still trembling from crying, but the corners of her mouth were raised high, and she smiled ferociously.

The girl with the ponytail screamed, staggering backward in fright at the weird and terrifying scene.

When the other roommates who were attracted by the sound broke into the toilet, they saw her sitting on the ground with a face full of horror, while the “roommate” in front of the sink was banging her head on the mirror.

The strength of the ‘roommate’ was particularly strong, the mirror surface ‘clicked’ into spider lines, cutting the forehead and nose of the ‘roommate’, and blood stains left red marks on the broken lines;

But she continued as if she was not in pain.

That night, the dazed girls watched their roommates being sent to the ambulance with their own eyes. The school leaders and their teachers also came and talked to them wave after wave.

The girl was still lying in the hospital to this day.

And it was precisely because she was the only one who was harmed that they speculated that the haunting in the dormitory was related to the death story told that night.

The girl with the ponytail said: “As sister Gu Zhisang said, even if I didn’t suffer any harm, I may never forget that scene and those eyes that night…”

The eyes of the long-haired girl were flushed as she said: “We know we were wrong. We shouldn’t talk about the deceased casually. We have been trying to apologize in the dormitory these days. We are willing to burn paper for it, as long as it can calm down.”

Hearing this, Gu Zhisang was sure that the ghost that caused the trouble was the wandering spirit in the school.

Just imagine a ghost who had a grudge in life, after being attracted by a nearby ‘spiritual’ technique, he heard that he was being talked badly, and the object of the joke was himself, who wouldn’t be angry?

Although these girls didn’t do anything outrageous, they were not considered innocent disasters either.

Host Liu was fascinated by what he heard. Seeing that there was an argument on the barrage about whether these girls were wrong, he hurried to control the field.

Host Liu said: “Our Contestant No. #7 Gu Zhisang not only saw the supernatural events that the help-seekers encountered but also unearthed the truth about the haunted dormitory. We believe that these young children did it unintentionally, and we also believe that they know they are wrong. I wonder if Sangsang can help them?”

Hearing this, the girls nodded again and again, looking at Gu Zhisang expectantly.

After pondering for a moment, Gu Zhisang said: “You said that the accident with the last girl happened in the toilet of a teaching building?”

The Ponytail girl said: “Yes.”

“You go with the shooting equipment, let me see if there is any problem with it. Generally speaking, people who commit suicide will become earthbound spirits, but your situation is slightly different. I suspect that ghost was near there before he was alive.”

Several girls looked at each other, nodded, and headed to the teaching building with the equipment.

Controversy continued in the comment area halfway:

[It deserves it, no, this is the result of being disrespectful to ghosts and gods.]

[They just said a few words and the ghost take revenge on the people in the dormitory? It can be said this ghost is so ruthless, such kind of ghost should be beaten to death!]

[They provoked it with their ignorance you can’t be blamed on others.]

[… …]

After arriving at the teaching building, the girls discovered that although the place was still used for classes, the toilet where the accident happened on the first floor had been sealed off. The door was locked and there was a sign prohibiting entry.

The girls had no choice but to go out of the building and go around to the back to see if they could catch something from the window of the toilet.

Just after walking around to the back of the teaching building, Gu Zhisang, who was on the opposite side of the live broadcast, suddenly said: “Don’t look, it’s here.”

She raised her eyes and her pupils were dark: “That earthbound spirit is looking at you.”

The girls: “!!!”

The audience: “!!!”

In her eyes, the window facing the live broadcast camera was shrouded in resentment, and a pair of faint red pupils stared in the direction of the girls with ponytails through the window.

Although Xi Haihong and Xun Yiqing had opened their spiritual senses, they could not see it clearly, but they also saw the obvious yin energy.

Xun Yiqing frowned, and raised his voice: “Hurry up and stay away from here, that place is very dangerous!”

Gu Zhisang said: “You guys adjust the shooting equipment upwards, aim at the surrounding facilities, and shoot twice, I have a guess that needs to be verified.”

The ponytail girl nodded, took the camera phone, and walked around the neighborhood twice as she said.

When they reached a flagpole, Gu Zhisang asked them to stop there.

“You said that the ghost you saw had long straight black hair and dried blood on its face and mouth, right?”

At first, the short-haired girl nodded: “Yes, I could see it that night, it looks like that.”

“That’s the earth-bound spirit.” Gu Zhisang looked a little strange: “But it’s strange, its gender in life was male. “

“What?!”

“But it obviously… wore a red dress and lipstick that night.”

Gu Zhisang did not continue following this topic, but motioned them to look around:

“This teaching building should be located on the west side of your school. There should be no other people except the students going to and out of class. But don’t you think it’s strange to see the three empty flagpoles in front of you?”

Hearing this, several girls looked around, only to realize that this was indeed the case.

They were now located in the west of the teaching building. There was no other teaching building here except a chemical laboratory, let alone dormitories and playgrounds. So why there were three flagpoles here?

There was no flag on the pole, and there was no flag underneath, just three straight iron pillars inserted into the ground.

In front of it was a piece of iron railings surrounding the school, surrounded by green vines and weeds.

And on the grass in front of the railing, there were still several stone tablets, with some simple patterns painted with red paint on them.

On weekdays, when they came to class by bicycle, they could see these scenes, but they never thought about what these things were and why three poles were standing there.

The ponytail girl touched the tip of her nose, “It seems quite strange…”

Gu Zhisang said: “The group of stone monuments in front of you are ‘tombstones’ in Feng Shui. In short, it is a monument to suppress the dead. It has the same effect as the tombstone, but its power and scope are greater. Those red-drawn spells are ‘requiem spells’, to appease the souls of the dead under this land.”

“Generally speaking, this kind of large-scale town monument will only appear in cemeteries and tombs. There is only one possibility for a school with a group of monuments. The site of this school was once a mass grave, and many anonymous people were buried here, which need to be suppressed with monuments.”

“Looking at the three pillars in front of you, don’t they look like the incense sticks in an ordinary incense burner? This is also a Feng Shui formation to suppress the dead.”

The girls didn’t think anything at first, but after hearing the truth about these things, they suddenly felt that the ground under their feet was creepy.

Looking at those small tablets with spells painted on them, they couldn’t help but move away.

But they didn’t understand what this had to do with that ghost that haunting their dormitory.

  1. Ooh! How come schools usually have stories that it used to be a cemetery or mass grave. My elementary and high school also have that rumors. Although my mom said that my high school used to be a spinach field when she was young. My university on the other hand was a former dominican monestery, and also rich with horror stories.
