Chapter 33: Repays Gratitude (Part 1)

Gu Zhisang let Xu Yan go, and a few minutes after leaving the toilet of the school’s west teaching building, two or three school leaders walked into the teaching building from the outside with a smile on their faces.

There were two imposing men behind them.

One was wearing a dark blue Chinese tunic suit and cloth shoes, with long hair tied in a bun on top of his head;

His hair was gray, but neither his footsteps nor his face and eyes looked like an old man. He only looked forty or fifty years old at most.

The other person looked more arrogant, looking in his early thirties.

When they arrived outside the toilet, the principal pointed to the sealed toilet door and said: “Masters, this is the toilet where the accident happened. Please take a look.”

The old man only glanced at it and said: “A child died wrongfully here. Since you teachers and leaders know that the old site of the school is special and not suitable for death, why didn’t you invite someone to come and see it when something happened?”

The current principal smiled and said: “Master, I have only come to this school not long ago, and I don’t even know these old things in the school!”

Ever since the “Spiritual Affair” program group started life broadcasting the playoffs, and the incident eight years ago was revealed, their school campus has been bombarded to the ruins by angry netizens.

A large number of netizens questioned the school leaders why they persuaded the victim Xu Yan to leave, saying that the school was doing a second injury.

The current principal received phone calls this morning from the city leaders and education officials above him, and he was asked to resolve the matter as soon as possible so that the hot searches would drop.

God knows how wrong he was!

He has only been in office for a year or two, and the former headmaster who made that decision has already retired and returned home. He was completely wiping the ass of the people above him.

In desperation, he had no choice but to find a well-known master in the city to see if there were any ‘dead souls’ mentioned in the live broadcast, and if so, he would get rid of them as soon as possible.

The young man with an indifferent expression said: “Master, look at the yin energy surrounding this place. It should be a big ghost that is causing trouble inside. I’m worried that it won’t obey the law.”

The old man snorted softly: “How can a ghost in the underworld be allowed to act recklessly!”

However, when the school leaders found someone to open the sealed toilets, two mysterious masters who were waiting in battle went in and took a look. They were surprised to find that only the remnants of ghosts remained in this small and closed space.

They searched all corners, but there was no sign of ghosts.

The young Taoist frowned: “It’s strange, where can it go when the yang energy is so heavy at noon? Could it be that the ghost has already cultivated to the point where it is not afraid of the scorching sun?!”

The old man shook his head and said:

“I’m afraid someone was one step ahead of us and let the ghost out! Look at the burn marks on the ground, that person made a substitute for the ghost.”

“What?”

The young man looked surprised, and said: “Someone can take away the soul under the great formation of suppressing the dead soul, how deep is the cultivation of this Mysterious Master, is it worth it to do this for a ghost? Or…that person has other plans to take away the ghost!?”

Seeing the same pensive expression of the master, the young Taoist priest suddenly thought of something and asked:

“Master, could it be that Gu Zhisang took away the ghost?”

“Gu Zhisang?” The old man frowned, shook his head for a while, and said, “Impossible, I heard that the girl is only in her early twenties, how could she have the ability to break this big formation unless she is a monster.”

“Besides, that kid from the Xun family is recording a program in X province now, and the girl is beside him, far away from here. Could it be that Gu Zhisang can travel a thousand miles away?”

Hearing that, the young Taoist also felt that he was overthinking.

That woman may be a bit talented Taoist, but she was born in the countryside and not from a well-known family. People on the Internet valued her too much.

“Then what do we do now?”

he old Taoist said: “Purify the yin energy here first, and then see if there are other yin objects in this school. Afterward, inform the fellow Taoists and ask them to pay more attention to the safety of various places and help catch the escaped ghosts.”

“Yes.”

Meanwhile, in another province.

There was no response in the room for a long time, Xiao Zhou was a little worried, and when she was about to open the door to take a look, the door of the lounge was pulled open from the inside.

Gu Zhisang walked out slowly, “I just fell asleep and didn’t see the message.”

Xiao Zhou blinked, and although she didn’t believe it, she still nodded and said: “It’s okay, Sister Sang, the car arranged by the program team is already waiting outside, shall we go there now?”

“Let’s go.”

When Gu Zhisang got into the car, the program group and some contestants who arrived at the place first had already started the process of the second half of the program.

Host Liu smiled and said to the camera: “Good afternoon, audience friends, how is your lunch break?”

As soon as the show’s main live broadcast room opened, a large number of original show viewers, as well as newly attracted netizens from hot searches, poured in.

Within five minutes, the total number of people in the live broadcast room was close to one million!

Of course, this has something to do with fans of all the contestants flocking to the same live broadcast room to watch the team competition, but the number and popularity still surprised the psychologically prepared program team.

[Gosh, this is the first time that I didn’t even take a nap to watch a program without thinking about food and drink. I kept surfing on Big Eye Boy to watch the follow-up of the live broadcast in the morning.]

[Oh my god, this little show is popular, right? There are seven or eight trending searches a day, and the number of people who watch the live broadcast exceeds one million. It’s too awesome.]

[Upstairs, there are only so many hot searches in the first half of the show, and there will be a team competition in the afternoon. It is conservatively estimated that there will be at least a dozen on the first show.]

[I came here because I wanted to see these masters’ psychic abilities. The hot search in the morning made me a little curious even if I am a firm materialist. If it is a script, then the screenwriter and director are talented.]

[Why did the broadcast start so early today, where are the contestants?]

Seeing that many spectators were asking contestants, Host Liu smiled mysteriously and said: “Today’s team competition is a bit special. It is somewhat similar to the morning ‘help-seeker from the dormitory’.”

“Based on the well-received broadcast of the program, our program group has received many help-seeking audiences, and many help-seekers hope that we can help to check and solve the supernatural events in life.”

“In the second half of the team competition today, the program team selected a few help-seekers, and invited them to come to the program team to communicate face-to-face with our contestants.”

“What kind of supernatural event happened to them? Whether the remaining contestant players can see it, let us wait and see. Next, we will invite the first batch of help-seekers to come on stage.”

After Host Liu finished speaking, he turned sideways to give up the shooting position, and the audience in the live broadcast room saw a young couple walking out from behind Host Liu.

The young man was wearing a tasteful brand-name formal suit, his hair was cut simply and stylishly, and he looked handsome with straight eyebrows.

He reached out to Host Liu to shake hands: “Hello, host.”

“Hello, please say hello to the audience first.”

The young man smiled at the camera and said, “Hi everyone, my surname is Li. You can call me Xiao Li. The person next to me is my lover, Xiao Ma. I am very happy to be on the program group of “Spiritual Affairs.”

The young woman flicked her hair, pulled it behind her ears, and said with a shy smile, “Hi everyone, my surname is Ma.”

Host Liu said: “The two seem to be very affectionate, the relationship must be very good.”

Xiao Ma looked up at her lover beside her, nodded, and said: “Yes, we met when we were in college. After 3 years of dating, he has always been very kind to me. I think he is the one I can spend my whole life with, so I got married as soon as I graduated. Now we’ve been married for over a year.”

[Wow, the handsome guy and the beautiful woman are so eye-catching, why are you stuffing me with dog food while watching a supernatural show!]

[After careful visual inspection, this sister is a real white and rich beauty. The snake bone bracelet on her wrist looks thin. It is full of real diamonds. It is high-end jewelry that costs hundreds of thousands! Other small, seemingly inconspicuous earrings and pendants are also in units of ten thousand, not to mention clothes and bags…]

[The love that only exists in fairy tales, I admire it.]

Host Liu said to the camera: “A week ago we received two young people asking for help, saying that some strange things had happened in their homes and lives, which had troubled them for a long time and even affected their daily lives.”

“After some discussion, they decided to ask the program group for help, and because the incidents encountered by the two young people were rather bizarre. There was a certain degree of specialties in the incidents they asked for help, so we accepted their case.”

  1. It was explicitly stated that this world recognize mysticism and spiritual power with the government even having a department for it.

Why do people still not believe in it?

    1. Because China is a state atheist and they literally have a law that bans religion from making too much waves (outright banning other religions and calling them cults). So yes, even if there are religions, like today, people will accept that they exist and while other people worship them, some who are brought up to be materialists and atheists will not believe them unless given indisputable proof. Even then, people can always claim it’s mass hysteria (yes, it’s an actual thing in psychology that explains many f*cked up things in our history).

Anyways, things like this still exist. I’ve seen our local witch do some freaky stuff (although it’s a good freaky; he once helped me find something I lost which was literally just in my home despite me searching for it for ages). There’s also someone in our country who has a literal youtube channel about being spiritually gifted (and have helped hundreds of people). While I do believe that things like that may exist, I don’t outright worship them. I imagine it’s the same for the netizens here.

      1. So they are basically that world equivalent of the “bird aren’t real” people in our world?

Sad that there are so many of them in the chat then. Over a million people watching and then there’s the “ghost aren’t real” people hogging the chat of a supernatural show.
