Chapter 47: One Body, Two Souls (Part 1)

Want a photo of her fiancé’s brother?

Why?

Feng Miao was confused, but seeing Gu Zhisang’s serious expression, she suddenly had a vague premonition. She became a little flustered and said:

“I’ve only heard that there is this person in their family, but I haven’t met him. How about I call my fiancé now and ask him to send it to me…”

The corner of Gu Zhisang’s lips twitched, and couldn’t help but say: “I advise you not to ask your fiancé. He won’t give it to you, and he won’t tell you the truth. Instead, he will doubt you.”

“Don’t you want to know what happened to your closest man and why there is such a big change?”

Feng Miao hesitated.

She could understand the underlying meaning of Gu Zhisang’s words.

The change in her fiancé was not because of her carelessness but for a reason.

After hesitating for a moment, she gritted her teeth and said: “Okay, I’ll go ask his mother. I happen to have my aunt’s phone number.”

As she spoke, she turned off the microphone on her side and called her fiancé’s mother.

While waiting, the number of people in Gu Zhisang’s live broadcast room has exceeded two million, and they are all guessing in the comment section:

[Why is there such a thing about twin brothers? Could it be that the girl was talking to the two brothers at the same time, but she couldn’t tell the difference?]

[… The guess upstairs is too nonsensical, twins can’t look the same, there will be some differences, how could it not be discovered.]

[Oh my mother. Each time, Gu Zhisang’s live broadcast room is so exciting. It’s much more interesting than the clear soup next door. I’m so curious about what’s going on!]

[No, didn’t she say that the younger brother died a month ago? I have a bold idea. The person who died was the elder brother, but the man’s family couldn’t bear to let ‘Milk Tea Crispy Bobo’ know the bad news before marriage, so they found a younger brother to marry instead!]

[Laughing to death, this year’s netizens are so awesome, and the stand-in literature is all out…]

Gu Zhisang opened the cup and took a sip of water, her eyes lightly skipping those comments.

Real life was far stranger and darker than stories.

Can an ordinary person become another person completely in just a few days?

Gu Zhisang saw such a change in Feng Miao’s fiancé.

In the photos taken when they went on a trip more than a month ago, the boy’s eyes were clear and firm, and the marriage line was also clear and firm.

However, looking at the two photos taken in the bridal shop a few days ago, although his appearance has not changed in any way, his eyes, facial expression, etc. were completely different from before.

According to the face trajectory of the previous photos, this boy will specialize in his current career and reach the top level of the industry;

He and Feng Miao will have a smooth and happy marriage and will give birth to the crystallization of their love.

However, in the last photo, the marriage palace was cast with a faint shadow, and even the relationship line began to become blurred.

After getting engaged, the boy suddenly changed his mind, turned bad, and his feelings for Feng Miao dissipated.

His originally bright career fortune also began to become gloomy and chaotic.

If his face has changed, it can barely be explained, but he also has a big change in temperament.

Then two more points were particularly strange.

One was, judging from the previous photo of Feng Miao’s fiancé, there will be a life-and-death disaster in his smooth life.

The time shows that it was just last month, before and after he and Feng Miao got engaged, and it was also around the time when his twin brother died.

The calamity of life and death was often a catastrophe. If people successfully pass through it, their life will have a smooth journey, but if people didn’t make it through, they will die suddenly.

But according to what Feng Miao said, her fiancé didn’t encounter any natural or man-made disasters in the past two months.

But judging from the wedding photo, the boy’s face changed drastically, and the calamity of life and death also disappeared.

Such a catastrophe, which symbolizes a bloody disaster, passed by quietly, which was not normal in itself.

Another strange point was that although the boy’s calamity of life and death disappeared when the wedding photo was taken, his life palace was covered with a thick layer of gloominess mixed with a faint red light.

This shows that his whole body was covered with evil force.

There were all sorts of strange cases. After pondering this boy’s special identity – twins, a chilling guess emerged in Gu Zhisang’s mind.

About three or four minutes later, Feng Miao hung up the phone and turned on the microphone, and said to Gu Zhisang:

“Sangsang, my aunt, and I called to talk about this matter. She knows that the program “Spiritual Affairs” also knows about you. Now, she is watching the live broadcast room…”

Just now, she called her fiancé’s mother with anxiety and said that she wanted two photos of her boyfriend’s brother.

Feng Miao was very worried.

She just found out that her brother-in-law-to-be, whom she had never met before, had passed away. Wouldn’t it be abrupt and rude to ask for a photo now? So she wondered if her fiancé’s mother would be angry.

But when she dialed the phone and said the request, the woman on the other end of the phone was stunned for a long time, and asked in a trembling voice:

“Miaomiao, how do you know…the existence of that child? What do you want his photo for?”

Feng Miao couldn’t hide it, so she told her mother-in-law about what happened in the live broadcast room, as well as the recent friction with her fiancé.

She said in an embarrassed tone:

“It’s not that I don’t trust Ah’Hang, nor believe too much in feudal superstition…”

Just when she didn’t know how to explain, the soon-to-be mother-in-law on the other end of the phone suddenly said: “I have the photo, Miaomiao, can you talk to that Master Gu, let me have a word with her?”

Hearing this request, Feng Miao was completely stunned and returned to the live broadcast room in a daze to convey it.

Gu Zhisang has no objection to this.

Soon, the screen in the live broadcast room was divided into two, and there was an extra shot.

On the new screen was a middle-aged woman.

She has short ear-length hair, wears a white formal suit, and has a calm demeanor;

The fine lines at the corners of her eyes and skin had traces left by time, but it can be vaguely seen that she must be a great beauty when she was young.

This person was Feng Miao’s prospective mother-in-law, the mother of her fiancé.

“Master Gu, my surname is Zhou, and I am Xiao Hang’s mother.”

Gu Zhisang: “Hello, Ms. Zhou.”

Mother Zhou on the other side frowned, and clasped her hands together tightly, as if she wasn’t used to showing up under the live broadcast camera, and she didn’t know how to speak about the things in her heart.

It took her a while to speak:

“Master Gu, may I ask why you want Xiao Xing’s photo?”

“Xiao Xing is my youngest son.”

“Can’t Ms. Zhou guess?” Gu Zhisang looked around her face and said suddenly:

“Ms. Zhou, you should have noticed something was wrong with your child earlier.”

“You have always doubted it, but you can’t believe what you think in your heart, and these things have been bothering you.”

Mother Zhou’s expression changed, and she suddenly raised her head to stare at the young girl on the other side of the screen.

Facing Gu Zhisang’s deep and dark pupils, at this moment she felt that she had been seen through from beginning to end, including the doubts and worries she had been hiding in her heart these days.

“Actually, from the look of your face, Ms. Zhou, I can tell most of the numerology of your two children.” Gu Zhisang said in the usual tone: “Do you want to listen to my deduction?”

After hesitating for a while, Mother Zhou sighed and nodded: “There’s nothing we can’t talk about those things in the past. It happened long ago.”

Gu Zhisang said:

“Ms. Zhou, you were born in the year 1975. You should have several brothers and sisters in your family, but the family conditions were not good at that time, your family is very poor. From the perspective of your parents’ palace, your relationship with them is not very good. The main reason is that they value boys over girls and treat you and your sisters harshly.”

“The first half of your life was very rough and unsatisfactory. After letting you study for a short period, you were forced to farm and work. When you were 17, you married your ex-husband. 4 years later, your two children were born, twins.”

Listening to Gu Zhisang’s words, Ms. Zhou’s expression was in a trance as if she had returned to the wheat field and cage-like village full of pain and despair more than 20 years ago: “It’s really like this…”

When she was born, she already had three older sisters.

After another little sister was born, her parents finally got their wish, the “treasure son”.

Since she was a child, the words she heard the most were ‘Girls are money-losing goods’.

  1. Ms. Zhou, you were born around 75 years ago. I think this one is mistranslation.
If she was 23 when she had her two sons, isn’t the sons 52 now? when the fiancee is 27 y.o,

    1. Yes, my bad, I didn’t check. She was born the year 1975. She married at the age of 17. Gave birth at the age of 21.
