There were dozens of people from the two villages who were arrested at the Southern Provincial Police Station and suspected of being involved in large-scale trafficking cases. When a row of police cars with sirens blaring took them from the village to the police station in the afterglow of the evening, the noise was loud and extraordinarily conspicuous.
After being temporarily detained, some frightened villagers looked sad and lowered their voices anxiously:
“What should we do, Brother Feng? These policemen have never arrested us with such a big fanfare. Did they get any evidence?!”
“Yes, our village is going to be doomed!”
Wu Feng was also nervous, but he had seen both sides of the big guys above him.
In terms of momentum alone, those people were much more powerful than Gu Zhisang and a few other online players. They were so full of sinister energy that it made one’s scalp numb just by looking at them!
Thinking of this, he felt a little more at ease.
He said strongly and calmly: “Don’t talk nonsense. What can they find out with these notes? The ‘goods’ in the village have been picked up long ago, and they can’t even find it!”
“As for the ‘partners’ outside, they are all veterans who have worked with us for many years. They know that if they betray us first, they will not escape death. Their mouths are much tougher than those of you weaklings.”
The second-in-command who has been working with Wu Feng and was also the nominal village chief of the village has been suspected by the police of abducting people from other provinces into the village because he accidentally exposed himself.
With the help of the formations set up by the masters in the village, he hid the abducted people inside and finally returned to the village without any trouble.
After experiencing this, the second-in-command has always despised the authority of Xia Country’s laws.
After hearing the nervous or panicked words from the surrounding villagers, he snorted coldly:
“Brother Feng is right, you, little shrimps are not as courageous as the eye of a needle! Just wait and see, the masters who protect us must have a way, and these police officers will have to let us go in despair in 2 days.”
The timid villagers who were ridiculed sadly said:
“I’m not afraid of going to jail. My eldest son has a girlfriend in a big city. The girl’s family is well-off, and she doesn’t look down on poor guys like us. But if I get caught, his good marriage will be ruined!”
Another villager was also anxious: “My daughter is still in college. She has good grades and is about to take the entrance examination. I can’t let anything happen at this time. Brother Feng, you have to find a way to help us!”
The detained villagers were panicked, and the police officers on duty outside were also worried.
“Team He, the evidence we have is not enough to prove the arrest. Besides, is it possible to arrest so many people at once…”
Captain He from the Southern Provincial Police Station said: “The orders from above seem to be guaranteed by the people from the Special Spiritual Team Department, so we just have to act.”
“Although I don’t believe in these ghosts and spirits, I hope they can show up this time and help Nan Province break through the haze that has been hanging over our heads for many years! Come on, let’s take notes now.”

On the other side, Gu Zhisang was sorting out the information she already knew.
Time goes back to the afternoon.
When she and the other contestants of the program were in the neighborhood committee of Xiaoyan Village, through Daisy’s flashback from the past, Gu Zhisang ‘saw’ a scene buried in the crazy woman’s memory.
That was a statue of a god.
The body of gold and bronze has multiple faces, either happy or angry. It was the “Thousand-faced God” that has emerged around the southern province in recent years.
Even from the memories of an unconscious person many years ago, one can glimpse the powerful power of this image;
The same evil was so sticky that it felt like being trapped in a mire when touched.
This was not normal.
Generally, all kinds of gods that were enshrined by people placed their rays of distraction in the world or clay sculptures, bronze sculptures, or gold sculptures, to collect incense and offerings;
These sculptures were not their true bodies, and the remaining power on them was very weak.
There was only one explanation for why Daisy was attacked and almost severely injured at a glance back:
The statue that the crazy woman, Zheng Xiaona’s lost sister, Zheng Xiaoyan, saw back then was the true form of the ‘Thousand-faced God’!
Gu Zhisang was very lucky and hit the target with one hit.
If she hadn’t directly grasped the true form of this so-called god, she wouldn’t have been able to break through the ‘black mist’ shrouding Zheng Xiaoyan so quickly.
After sorting out the relevant information and making sure that nothing was missing, Gu Zhisang handed the notebook of the transcript to the police officer responsible for receiving it.
After getting it, the police officers discovered that it had Zheng Xiaoyan as the central fulcrum and the information on each center was very detailed.
Zheng Xiaoyan, born in 1990, was 32 years old this year and was born in the Jiangbei generation of Xia Country.
Judging from her face, her life was extremely miserable.
When she was young, she was brought far away from my hometown and separated from my relatives;
When she was still a young girl, she was forced to enter into an eccentric relationship and got married to a tiger and wolf man.
She gave birth to her first child, a boy, at the age of sixteen. Six years later, Zheng Xiaoyan, who was only 22 years old, gave birth to her second daughter.
Finally, when her daughter was just three years old, she fell into madness because she could not escape. From then on, she wandered around the village like a zombie for several years.
If Gu Zhisang hadn’t come to this village, hadn’t discovered anything unusual about her, or if she hadn’t been willing to intervene at that moment;
According to Zheng Xiaoyan’s original life trajectory, when she was less than 40 years old, she would suffer from a mental trance and difficulty moving. She would fall and hit her head on a stone and die.
She wanted to leave this prison all her life and find her relatives and hometown, but she died miserably and no one collected her body.
In the following years, the old couple of the Zheng Family and Zheng Xiaona were still searching back and forth. They did not even know that their daughter was dead.
Zheng Xiaoyan’s real-life trajectory was indeed the same.
From the memories retrieved by Gu Zhisang, she interpreted the painful and miserable first half of Zheng Xiaoyan’s life.
When she was 7 years old, Zheng Xiaoyan and her sister Zheng Xiaona followed their parents who were collecting mushrooms and came to Nan Province. In the summer of that year, Zheng Xiaoyan ran to the roadside out of anger with her sister and was spotted by local traffickers.
Taking advantage of the fact that there was no one on the village road at that time, the trafficker covered Zheng Xiaoyan’s mouth and nose with a scarf soaked in potion and quietly abducted her.
The Zheng family stayed here for more than a month, but could not find the whereabouts of their child, and finally returned in despair.
They did not know that their lost little daughter had just been brought to the next village less than three kilometers away and was being detained as cargo.
At that time, the trafficking chain here had begun to take shape. Many of the human traffickers were poor and incompetent villagers from nearby villages who did not want to find a serious job and only wanted to make huge profits.
These people were responsible for the first stage of ‘choosing’, ‘catching’, and ‘training’.
There were several higher-level sales chains further up.
It can be said that the person in charge at the top of the chain was not an ordinary person can compare with. They were a group of big guys with good skills. They can use various magical means to prevent the police officers from catching the little shrimps at the bottom.
When Zheng Xiaoyan was first kidnapped, she was hidden in the village formation.
Although she was cute at the time, she was only seven years old after all, so she was too young to be sold to the mountains as a new ‘wife’.
But as a child, she was too old and could already clearly remember that she was abducted. So she clamored all day long to go home and ask for her parents. Such a child was not well-raised.
In addition, she was not a popular commodity – a boy, so she was almost sold across the border as second-class goods.

Those people are just sick. They deserve to have their families’ lives ruined as a result of their cruelty and indifference to others’ families, but it’s not right to punish innocent people, so at least the families related to the perpetrators should be told of their atrocities so that the perpetrators will know that their own families are disgusted with them and too ashamed to admit even being related to them. If the perpetrators knew they were forsaken by their own families, that would one of the greatest punishments because they most likely did everything for their families’ sake in the first place just to instead be met with their abhorrence and shame.
Thanks for the chapter! 😀
