Chapter 85: Goddess Lake Festival (Part 4)

Gu Zhisang smiled slightly and said: “Let’s go.”

When they came to the police station again, they could see through the glass that police officers were giving ideological education to the middle-aged couple in the detention room.

“Your thoughts and actions are very dangerous! This is a crime of murder. You will be sentenced after this incident!”

The couple were still arguing: “We spent the money, and the two families agreed to sell the child!”

“This is human trafficking, you don’t have to make excuses. Besides, you gathered people by the lake to promote feudal superstition and repeatedly obstructed the police from normal work. These are very serious behaviors. We understand your feelings, but this is not an excuse for you to break the law and commit crimes.”

After looking at them a few times, Gu Zhisang looked away and said: “Those two children were bought as ‘sacrifice’.”

The police officer behind him nodded and said: “Yes, the couple spent a total of more than 200,000 yuan. What is strange is that not only the two of them were involved in this incident, but four other people did not encounter any accidents or someone drown in their family but participated together.”

The police officer named the four people and said: “After investigation, two of them are not even from this city. They have household registrations in two adjacent cities around this city. The other two are from this city, but they don’t know each other. They didn’t have any connection.”

“But each of the four of them contributed 50,000 yuan to raise money to buy the 2 children. We have just confronted them for a long time. These people only said that they were supporting the sacrificial activities and had no other meanings. Some said that they had no idea that the Old Shaman and others were raising money to buy children.”

Gu Zhisang nodded and said: “Can you let me see them?”

“Okay.” The police officer nodded: “But their motive for committing the crime is unknown. We suspect there may be another mystery behind it. To prevent them from colluding in confession, we have detained these four people separately.”

Gu Zhisang: “It’s okay. I just need to look at their faces. I don’t need to communicate with them.”

“Okay, then Miss Gu, come with me.”

Following the police officer’s footsteps, Gu Zhisang came to the door where the four people were detained and looked at the people inside silently.

The officers behind her were surprised to find that none of the four people in the room noticed her peeking.

You must know that the windows in the room are transparent. If someone looks in through the window, the people inside should be able to see and discover it.

After looking at the first three people, Gu Zhisang thought thoughtfully, discussed with the police officer behind him, stopped at the door of the room of the fourth person who participated in purchasing children as ‘sacrifice’, and pushed the door open.

Sitting in the room was the only woman among the four participants.

She was in a daze in the room, thinking a little nervously. She looked up after hearing the movement at the door, and her body froze when she saw Gu Zhisang.

The woman hadn’t forgotten what happened at the lake.

This pretty little girl can easily kick over a large wooden box and can make someone’s mouth swell from a distance!

She was secretly wary and a little nervous, but when she met Gu Zhisang’s eyes, she was still breathing heavily and felt like she was being seen through.

The woman spoke very quickly: “I said I don’t know that they bought the children. I just don’t want the people in the same city to be punished by the river goddess! My dad is a fisherman, so I also do this for my family…”

She rambled on but found that Gu Zhisang’s expression did not change.

After a long while, Gu Zhisang said her first words after entering the room: “I believe what you said. Judging from your appearance, there is a missing link between your parents’ palace, which means that your mother died when you were very young, and you were brought up by your father. You are a local, and your family must have run a small business. After the business went down a few years ago, your father contracted fish and crab business, and started aquaculture…”

“So you are such a filial, kind, and good person who cares about the people in the city. Why did you run away then?”

When Gu Zhisang told her family information bit by bit, the woman began to look panicked.

She kept comforting herself in her heart that she was from this city. Isn’t it very simple for the police to investigate her identity information?

She must not let herself get into trouble just because of these words!

But when she heard Gu Zhisang’s last words, her tense expression completely broke.

The woman stammered and shook her head: “I, I don’t know what you are talking about. Don’t think that just because you are a police officer, you can talk nonsense. I…I said I don’t know anything and I want to hire a lawyer!” “

Gu Zhisang rested her chin on his delicate white fingertips with an indifferent expression.

Her cascading black hair spread behind her shoulders, coupled with her Miao ethnic navy blue dress, made her skin color look dazzlingly against the silver pattern and blue fabric. When she looks at others with a cold face, she can make them feel guilty.

“Okay.”

She spoke calmly and continued: “You were born in this city. You are 35 years old this year and were born in the midsummer of 1987. Because of your birthdate and the influence of your parents, your five elements were not affected too much by the terrain. If you have gold and fire elements but lack water, it stands to reason that you should pay more attention and make up for it when choosing a name. However, your parents do not believe this and they gave you the name themselves.

Coincidentally, the name they gave you also means “Fierce and Strong”. “

“However, if the fire is too strong, it will easily break. If the fire is too strong and not resolved, some disasters will naturally occur. When you were eleven years old, the only disaster related to water occurred in your life.”

Gu Zhisang paused for a moment, and a smile appeared on his slightly raised face: “But you are lucky and survived. You met the noble person who saved you.”

A scream suddenly erupted from the woman’s throat. She held her ears and shook her head, obviously unwilling to hear these words.

How come?

How could anyone know about this?!

That was something she never wanted to think about in her life, and she still regretted what she did.

But not because she wanted to escape, Gu Zhisang will stop talking:

“Strangely, you escaped from the water disaster that year, but this incident has become a lingering shadow in your heart. Since then, you have become more afraid of water. When you learned that your father was going to start a fish and crab business, you were opposed to this matter.”

“What are you afraid of? What exactly is in the Goddess Lake?”

“What’s even stranger is that I don’t seem to see any trace of the person who saved you from the disaster in your life trajectory. Her existence disappeared out of thin air.

“I can’t think of any more reasonable explanation than that she’s dead.”

Officers outside the house could hear the screams inside, filled with resistance and panic.

They looked at each other, thinking that Gu Zhisang wouldn’t use any inappropriate means on that person, right?!

The police officer hesitated whether to stop the meeting and called Gu Zhisang out of the room. Gi Liaochan, who had her arms folded, shook her head slightly and said:

“Don’t worry, if Sangsang wants to get any information, she doesn’t have to use torture to extract a confession, which is the most inferior method.”

The suspicious police officer walked to the window and took a look inside. Sure enough, they saw two women in the room sitting on both sides of the table, with a long distance between them.

It’s just that the suspect woman kept holding her head and shaking her head for some unknown reason, and she was very excited.

Gu Zhisang watched silently, and could only hear the woman’s murmur:

“That’s not the case…I didn’t do it on purpose, it’s not on purpose…”

She squinted her eyes slightly and said firmly: “So the place where you encountered the incident and almost drowned was at the Goddess Lake. It’s just that you were saved by a person at that time, and she lost her life to save you. It’s a pity… “

“You didn’t tell the truth of this matter in public.”

Gu Zhisang leaned forward slightly and said in a cold tone: “You know what happened in Goddess Lake from beginning to end, and you also know that they buy children as sacrifices.”

“Is it really for the River Goddess you want to offer the sacrifices because you feel worried?”

  1. So the shaman woman ended up killing the person who saved her? I’m guessing it’s an accident, although I don’t know how she could accidentally kill her after being pulled ashore, and she’s using children sacrifices to retrieve her body from the “lake goddess” after all this time.

    Thanks for the chapter! 😀
