Chapter 88: The Murderer (Part 1)

Until the last moment, Gangster Zhao still clenched his teeth and chose to keep silent: “I don’t know what you are talking about. May I ask if the two officers have finished asking questions? Can I go back?”

Gu Zhisang looked at Gangster Zhao deeply, and said with a smile: “Of course.”

But he also lost the only chance to remove the resentment in his body.

People who don’t repent don’t deserve to be saved.

When Gu Zhisang and Gi Liaochan just came out of the interrogation room, there was a harsh sound of tables and chairs rubbing against the ground in the room. Gangster Zhao staggered and fell to the ground, knocked over the chair, and his body twitched continuously.

The police officer in charge of recording was startled, and hurriedly got up and went to help him: “Zhao, what’s wrong with you?!”

As soon as the police officer pulled Gangster Zhao’s arm, he felt the slippery and cold sweat stains on his palm.

He felt that he was not holding human skin but a slippery fish. Under the sweat stains, he could vaguely feel Gangster Zhao’s uneven arm lines and some small protrusions felt very uncomfortable.

Looking down, the police found that the suspect Gangster Zhao was sweating all over due to nervousness, but his lips were dry and flaky, and he opened and closed his mouth and said in a hoarse voice: “Water… I’m thirsty, water…”

No matter how you look at this scene, it doesn’t look like a normal physiological phenomenon.

Seeing this, Gi Liaochan couldn’t help but say: “If people don’t know, they might think that you, Sangsang, did something to him… But is he not the murderer of Liu Mouxin?”

Gu Zhisang said: “He didn’t kill her.”

“The temperament and soul of the killer are quite special, especially the murderer, who is different from all the animal slaughterers. They often have a layer of evil power on their bodies, which makes their souls appear gray, black, and red. As long as the Mystic Master can ‘observe the soul’, he can identify it.”

However, Gangster Zhao’s soul was just turbid, but not stained with the evil power, which means that at least the murderer was not him.

Gu Zhisang snorted coldly: “I can only say that he is a bad person who has committed many evil deeds and has been revenged by ghosts.”

“Did you see what he looked like? It is obvious that the resentment of the water ghost has condensed into a physical entity and entangled him, and the resentment of the water ghost is very powerful, far from an ordinary water ghost.”

She said with a solemn expression: “My suspicion is correct. If Liu Mouxin’s body is nailed with a ‘soul-calming nail’ and buried in the ground as the mystic master said, then it is impossible to have such a great influence.”

“That’s why I suspect that the body was not buried at all, but was catalyzed by unknown means.”

Gi Liaochan had a headache.

Originally, he thought the “Buried Corpse Case” was bizarre enough. Now the boy’s body has not been found, and several cases have been involved in this case, which was even more confusing and difficult to find the root cause.

At this time, the police officer who had barely stabilized Gangster Zhao came out of the interrogation room, “Miss Gu, Sister Chan, we heard what you just said. Judging from the guilty look of Zhao, there may be something else behind this murder. It was our mistake that we didn’t find out then.”

“When his condition gets better, we will re-interrogate him and try to use him as a breakthrough point to get him to open his mouth as soon as possible.”

Gu Zhisang shook her head slightly: “It may not be useful. I can feel that he is afraid to talk about this, otherwise, he wouldn’t refuse to speak just now.”

“What should we do now?” Gi Liaochan asked.

Gu Zhisang said: “I still need to see someone.”

“Who?”

“Liu Mouxin’s husband.”

The police officer was a little surprised, “Miss Gu, do you suspect him? We also considered this at the time.”

After all, according to their visits and investigations, they determined that Liu Mouxin’s husband had a dull and strange temper and was prone to losing his temper when drunk. More than one villager had seen Liu Mouxin with injuries on her body.

Privately, the villagers said that this man looked taciturn, but he was not that honest and reliable, and he would beat his wife.

If such a man found out that his wife was having an affair and cheating on him at home, he would have a reasonable motive for committing the crime.

However, after investigation, the police found that he was not allowed to rest at the construction site that day;

He also had dinner and drinks with his fellow workers at the construction site that night and went to work as usual the next day.

And his relationship with Gangster Zhao should be bad. They might have hated each other. If he killed the person, Gangster Zhao, a shameless rogue without conscience, had no reason to take the blame for him;

He also had no money to bribe Gangster Zhao to take the blame.

In addition, there were indeed various pieces of evidence on Gangster Zhao’s boat and mobile phone, and the police finally ruled out suspicion of this man.

In the mouths of the villagers of Xinquan Village, he also became a poor and honest man wearing a green hat.

Soon, Gu Zhisang got the current address of Liu Mouxin’s husband.

According to the police, although this person moved out of Xinquan Village with his son, he did not leave the city, nor did he transfer his son to another school. He said that his son was in the third year of junior high school and was at a critical juncture for the high school entrance examination, so he should not be affected by family matters.

But one strange thing was that the city where this person lived at the beginning was next to the construction site where he worked.

Less than a month after moving there, he moved again. This time, the city he chose was the same as Yao Mingfang, which was the farthest suburb from the “Goddess Lake”.

After getting the current address of this person, Gi Liaochan drove Gu Zhisang there.

It was already evening when they arrived at the other party’s community. The road across the community was a bar street, and the lights and wine were particularly lively.

Although Gu Zhisang was wearing a hat and a mask when she got out of the car and was still wearing Miao clothes, she was still spotted by several young people who came out to shop after walking a few steps.

A long-haired girl plucked up her courage and approached cautiously: “Hello? Are you… Sangsang?”

Gu Zhisang: “……”

After hesitating for a moment between denying and admitting, she raised her eyes and looked at the girl. Before she opened her mouth to speak, the girl’s eyes lit up, and her face flushed with excitement, and she was at a loss.

“Gosh, is it you, Sangsang? I, I will lower my voice. God help me, I’m so excited, I like you so much. I have been voting for you and rooting for you since you appeared on the show, and I have been following the Spiritual Affairs for half a year…”

The girl suddenly thought of something: “Why did you come to Xiang Province? You look so beautiful in Miao decorations. Oh my, is there a new drama about to start filming, or is the next episode of “Spiritual Affairs” going to be located in Xiang Province?”

From her chattering and suppressing excitement, Gu Zhisang could hear her excitement and joy, and believed that this girl liked her.

After all, she could recognize her just by her figure and eyebrows.

Gu Zhisang’s eyes were warmer. She took a photo with the girl, signed for her, and then put her fingertips on her lips:

“You can post it in a few days. I don’t want others to know that I’m in Hunan Province these 2 days.”

The girl nodded repeatedly, repeatedly reminding her to eat more and take a rest.

After she lowered her hat and pulled her mask higher, Gi Liaochan said with interest: “I know that girl just now is the ‘mom fan’ mentioned on the Internet. I really can’t tell that you are so gentle to your fans.”

Gu Zhisang smiled lightly and said nothing.

The husband of the deceased Liu Mouxin was surnamed Liang, and his name was Liang Youkang.

The two compared the house number given to them by the police station and came to the corresponding corridor and door. As soon as they walked up the stairs, they heard complaints.

On the floor where Liang Youkang rented, a family happened to have a problem with the meter. They called the community’s technical workers to help check and repair the meter, and complained in a low voice: “I wonder if you can check about it? This newly moved 403 is almost tormenting all our neighbors. Look at the garbage piled up in front of his door. It’s about to rot and stink, but he doesn’t throw it away.”

  1. This murder mystery case has so many factors that it’s difficult to pinpoint where they all intersect. I can only think that the mystic master probably found all these different people and colluded with them separately for different goals, which is quite scary if you consider the meticulousness of his plan.

    Thanks for the chapter! 😀
