Chapter 23: Alley and courtyard

At the deepest part of Furong Alley was the An family’s house, a very ordinary old-style courtyard house.

An Yan has never disliked the courtyard where she lives, just because it was too old. For her, this courtyard carries the best time in her memory and was also the biggest relic left to her by her parents.

This courtyard was like a haven built by her parents for her. As long as she returns home, the negative emotions and fatigue brought to her by the outside world seem to be blocked out, allowing her to completely relax and feel at ease as if her parents were with her.

However, when she was in a very difficult situation, she also had secret annoyance and indignation, complaining about the injustice of the world, and why only their old street had not been developed, otherwise, with the demolition fee, her life would not be so tiring.

Of course, such low emotions were very rare. Deep in her heart, she was more fortunate that the old street had not been demolished, and she could continue to guard her home with her parents.

This alley was not long, people could see the end at a glance. There were three families on each side, and An Yan’s home was at the end of the alley opposite.

After entering, there was a courtyard of about 20 square meters. Two small vegetable plots have been cultivated under the walls on both sides, but weeds grow on one side and some sparsely planted onions and peppers on the other side.

It can be seen that the owner of the courtyard rarely takes care of it, but just planted some easy-to-grow seasonings and side dishes.

Next to the right wall of the next door, there was a hibiscus tree. In May, the branches and leaves are green. An Yan’s parents chose this courtyard because there was a beautiful hibiscus tree in the yard.

Next to the hibiscus tree, a small car shed was built with simple wooden boards, and a dilapidated pedal tricycle was placed inside. This was the means of transportation used by her parents to transport medicinal materials in the past.

Under the courtyard wall on the left side, there was a cement sink, which was just at the waist level and used for washing clothes and other things.

Nowadays, the times are becoming more and more developed. Such washing tables have long become a thing of the past, but the An family has kept them.

Next, the house was facing the courtyard gate. The layout of the house was also very simple. The kitchen was on the right side, and the room next to it was where her parents lived before, and then there was the bathroom.

The room with the window on the left side facing the yard was An Yan’s room, and the room next to it was a guest room specially converted as a pharmacy room.

Most of the furniture in the house was made of wood, and it looked a bit old. The decoration was also simple and plain, but it exudes a comfortable and warm feeling.

After An Yan came back from the company, she immediately buried her head in front of the desk and wrote the plan seriously. Although she already had an idea in her mind, she still had to think carefully about how to do it.

Her total assets now only add up to 3,000 yuan. If she uses this money for living expenses, it can support her for one or two months.

But if she wants to use it to start a business, it will be a bit difficult, not to mention the beauty industry that An Yan wants to do.

So, in the early stage, she will save as much as possible. She plans to hang a sign at the door of her yard. Anyway, she didn’t plan to sell her products in a physical store, so there was no need to spend money to rent a store.

She was the only one living in their house, so as long as she got the relevant business licenses, she could operate formally. There was a spacious venue and a pharmacy room, which could fully meet the operating conditions of a handicraft workshop.

Secondly, she thought about how she would operate and sell her beauty products.

While An Yan was thinking, she quickly wrote down the ideas in her mind, and she filled up several sheets of draft paper with writing and drawing.
