Chapter 18: Sister, why are you crying?

In Qiushui City.

Qi Mohan and Imperial Concubine Yun listened to Si Si’s words in the recorder together.

After hearing that the water source was in unlimited supply, Imperial Concubine Yun excitedly grabbed Qi Mohan’s arm and burst into tears.

“Mohan, did I hear it wrong? Did Miss Si say that the water source was in unlimited supply?”

Qi Mohan’s heart was also surging, and he nodded solemnly: “Mother, you didn’t hear it wrong, Miss Si did say so.”

After getting her son’s confirmation, Imperial Concubine Yun put her hands together and faced the direction where the two little ones often disappeared.

“Thank heaven for letting us meet such a kind-hearted Miss Si, and letting the people of Prince Rong Mansion and Qiu Shui City see hope for life.”

Although Qi Mohan didn’t express it like Imperial Concubine Yun, he was also grateful to Si Si from the bottom of his heart.

Moreover, in his heart, he always thought that these were provided by Si Si for free, after all, the things he gave to others were not worth much.

Even so, Miss Si Si said that the number of vases and ornaments he gave her was too much.

How greedy this girl must be to say such a thing!

Qi Mohan sighed silently in his heart, hoping that he would have the opportunity to repay Miss Si Si in the future.

Imperial Concubine Yun had already wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes with a handkerchief.

“Mohan, Miss Si is so understanding, you must thank her.”

Speaking of gratitude to Si Si, Qi Mohan’s biggest headache.

Now his Prince Mansion can be said to be penniless, and he can’t get anything decent, so how can he repay his gratitude now?

Qi Mohan rubbed his painful temples: “Mother, you know our situation now. I will remember Miss Si Si’s kindness. When the situation improves a little, I will find a way to get her some valuable things.”

Imperial Concubine Yun also knew the current situation, but she felt uncomfortable because she didn’t give anything back to Si Si at the moment.

After thinking about it, Imperial Concubine Yun stood up and said: “I heard from Qing’er and Mujin that Miss Si lives alone, so she must rely on herself for three meals a day. I will make her a bowl of noodles myself so that she can taste my cooking skills.”

Although Qi Mohan felt that a bowl of noodles was too little for the many supplies sent by Si Si, he didn’t stop her.

His mother just wanted to do her best to let Miss Si Si feel the warmth from them.

After all, Imperial Concubine Yun’s status was there, and she had no chance to cook. Fortunately, before she got married, her mother specially sent someone to teach her, so she still knew some cooking skills.

Unfortunately, the food in the mansion was limited now, and all of it was sent by Si Si. She can only cook a bowl of dragon beard noodles for the latter, as a gift to the Buddha.

Imperial Concubine Yun was cooking noodles in the kitchen, and Si Si brought back so many supplies and waited in the room.

Logically, the two little ones would return soon after bringing back the news, not to mention that it was only afternoon, and it was not time to rest, why didn’t they come for so long?

Just when she was wondering in her heart, Xiao Qing and Xiao Mujin suddenly appeared.

Xiao Qing held a recorder in her hand, and Xiao Mujin held a large tray with a bowl of steaming dragon beard noodles on it.

Xiao Mujin took a few quick steps with her short legs and brought the noodles to Si Si: “Sister, my grandmother said that you live alone and there must be no one to take care of you. This is the noodles she cooked specially for you.”

Si Si took a look at the bearded man and her eyes instantly became wet.

This feeling was a little inexplicable, but she just wanted to cry.

It has been several days since her mother passed away. Except for Teacher Wang’s call to show her concern, she has never felt any warmth from the outside world.

Although this bowl of noodles doesn’t seem to have much oil and water, and there were no vegetables in it, Si Si just feels that it is particularly delicious.

Seeing Si Si’s expression, Xiao Qing came forward to wipe her tears: “Sister, why are you crying? Qing’er feels so bad for you.”

Si Si felt a little embarrassed to be comforted by a child, and she quickly took out a tissue to wipe her eyes.

“Sister, don’t cry, eat noodles.”

Si Si picked up the antique bowl in front of the two little ones and ate all the dragon beard noodles and a poached egg in it, one bite at a time.

To be honest, this noodle soup was not delicious. There was nothing but the salty taste of salt.

But Si Si didn’t dislike it at all, and she felt warm in her heart while eating it.

Especially, she knew the identity of Concubine Yun. Being called Imperial Concubine Yun was enough to show her noble status. She was also the mother of Prince Rong Qi Mohan. With such an identity, she could cook noodles for herself in the kitchen, which showed her good intentions.

Si Si felt the taste of being cared for and loved by the elders in this bowl of noodles.

This also made her think of her parents unconsciously.

When they were away, as long as she went home on vacation, no matter how troublesome the business was, her parents would not show any unhappiness in front of her.

Her mom would also cook in the kitchen and make all kinds of dishes she liked for her.

Dad often said that no matter how old a person was, no matter how many good things he had eaten outside, they were not as good as the warm taste of his mother at home.

Looking at the empty bowl of noodles, Si Si shed tears uncontrollably again.

This made the two little kids anxious.

Xiao Mujin pulled Xiao Qing to a place farther away from Si Si: “Sister, is it because the noodles cooked by grandma don’t suit your appetite, and you think they are not delicious that you are crying?”

Xiao Qing shook her head: “Qing’er used to not like food, and I just didn’t eat it, but I never cried.”

“Maybe sister doesn’t like this noodle, so she cried.” Xiao Mujin couldn’t figure out why Si Si cried even harder after eating noodles, so she could only guess this way.

Although the two little ones were a little far away from Si Si, the room was small after all, so their conversation naturally could not escape Si Si’s ears.

Si Si felt embarrassed for a moment, she was crying without any reason, and the two little ones misunderstood her like this.

She wiped her tears with a tissue, and after making sure that she would not get emotional again, she went over and pulled the two of them to her side.

“The noodles cooked by your grandmother are delicious. Sister is not crying because the noodles are not delicious, but because I think of my mother.”

The two little ones tilted their heads to listen carefully to Si Si’s words. Xiao Qing asked innocently: “Sister, where is your mother? Why don’t they live with you?”

Si Si smiled bitterly at the window: “They have left.”

The two little ones didn’t know what “left” meant, and they just thought that their sister’s mother was far away.

Xiao Qing struggled to climb onto Si Si’s legs and hugged her slender neck: “Sister, do you miss them? Qing’er also misses my parents, but unfortunately, Qing’er doesn’t even remember what my parents look like.”
