Chapter 75: I will definitely be responsible for you

Her body was so soft as if it would melt at the slightest touch, and the pleasure this sensation brought him was unprecedented.

Gradually, Qi Mohan found himself becoming increasingly addicted to this feeling.

Every time he came into contact with Si Si’s body, an indescribable impulse and desire would surge within him.

He longed to feel more of her warmth, her scent, and her unique charm.

This addiction was not merely a physical desire but a deeper emotional need.

He began to ponder, wondering to himself: Could this be that special emotion people often speak of admiration and affection?

At this thought, Qi Mohan’s cheeks inexplicably flushed with a faint blush. He didn’t know how to explain this to Si Si. Regardless of his initial intentions when he held her, he had truly tarnished Si Si’s purity.

After much deliberation, Qi Mohan decided to clarify the situation: “You have been running a high fever, and Qiushui City has been in a prolonged drought. The usual medicines have run out, and I was afraid your body wouldn’t hold up, so I thought of a way to help you cool down…”

Finally, he added: “No matter the reason, I have had intimate physical contact with you. Rest assured, I will take responsibility for you.”

Si Si’s body still ached, a symptom she knew accompanying from having a fever.

Although she had been in a deep sleep, she wasn’t completely unconscious. She could feel the discomfort in her body.

Therefore, she didn’t doubt Qi Mohan’s words. He had only done this to help her cool down, and they were both fully clothed. Nothing inappropriate had happened. After hearing Qi Mohan’s explanation, she quickly let it go.

As for the matter of taking responsibility, as a modern person, she wouldn’t dwell on such a situation.

Instead, she was grateful to Qi Mohan for going out in the rain to help her, disregarding his health.

“Thank you for saving me.” To ease Qi Mohan’s tension, Si Si didn’t say much, simply expressing her sincere gratitude.

Qi Mohan had expected Si Si to be overwhelmed upon learning of their intimate contact. He had prepared himself for the storm that might follow.

To his surprise, she calmly thanked him instead.

This made Qi Mohan feel even more uneasy.

“Si Si, I know what just happened was a bit reckless. If you’re angry, you can hit me or scold me but don’t keep it bottled up. And my promise to take responsibility isn’t just empty words. You can rest assured.”

“There’s no need to take responsibility. You only did it to save me.” Si Si replied lightly.

The more she acted this way, the more uneasy Qi Mohan felt. Just as he was about to say more, Prince Jin’s voice echoed from outside.

“Qi Mohan, come out quickly! The millennium clam we worked so hard to catch doesn’t have a single pearl. How can you hide at a time like this?”

Si Si listened intently to the voice, trying to confirm that she wasn’t hallucinating and had indeed encountered Qi Mohan.

But Qi Mohan’s reaction surprised her. He merely frowned slightly in displeasure before his gaze softened again, resting on Si Si.

His face was filled with endless tenderness as he looked at her, seemingly oblivious to the noise outside.

Si Si had only ‘met’ Qi Mohan through video recordings before. Aside from his handsomeness, he had always seemed serious and expressionless. She had never seen any emotion on his face.

But now, Qi Mohan was looking at her with such gentle eyes.

Si Si began to feel that she must be hallucinating. How could such a serious person be smiling at her like this?

Yes, he was smiling. The corners of Qi Mohan’s lips were slightly upturned, and his deep eyes sparkled with a light that exuded a sense of calm and security as if being by his side meant the world was free of fear and worry.

Just as Si Si was caught between reality and illusion, Qi Mohan’s deep, magnetic voice sounded in her ear: “Si Si, no matter what you’ve been through these past few days, it’s all over now. Just stay safely in the Rong Mansion. I won’t let you face danger again.”

Qi Mohan said this to divert Si Si’s attention, hoping she wouldn’t dwell on the matter from earlier.

Si Si still felt a sense of unreality. She couldn’t understand why she was here.

She stared intently at Qi Mohan, trying to find a reason for her hallucination. But Qi Mohan remained in his position, not moving at all.

She reached out and grabbed Qi Mohan’s hand. If this were a hallucination, she should have grasped at air.

But that didn’t happen. Instead, she firmly held a large, well-defined hand.

Qi Mohan was surprised. He hadn’t expected Si Si to hold his hand. At the same time, he felt a slight warmth spreading through his body.

“Si Si, what’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?” Qi Mohan resisted the urge to pull her into his arms, asking softly instead.

“Qi Mohan, where is this?” Si Si was beginning to realize this wasn’t a hallucination.

“This is the Rong Palace in Qiushui City, my bedroom.” Qi Mohan’s hand was still tightly held by Si Si as if she feared letting go would mean losing something precious.

His gaze was complex as he looked at the girl before him, his voice slightly hoarse.

The low, magnetic tone was like a flickering candle in the wind, stirring something deep within.

Hearing that this was the Rong Palace, Si Si released his hand and looked around.

Everything around her was antique. The windows were made of wood, intricately carved with beautiful patterns, divided into many small grids, exuding elegance.

The furniture in the room was also unique, each piece radiating a strong sense of history, yet different from the Huanghuali wood antiques she had sold before.

These pieces, though not as ornate, were more simple and practical, revealing a distinct beauty.

Could it be that she wasn’t dreaming but had traveled through time?

Looking down at her body, it was still her own. Had she not only traveled through time but also brought her body with her?

To confirm her suspicion, she asked: “Qi Mohan, am I really in the Rong Palace in Qiushui City?”

Which is your territory…

Qi Mohan wasn’t entirely sure why Si Si, after disappearing for two days, had appeared in his era. But one thing was certain, her presence here was an undeniable fact.
